Cosmological Redshift-Space Distortion II : distance in an inhomogeneous universe and evolution of bias

چکیده
We discuss the two potentially important effects which should be taken into account in the analysis of the cosmological redshift-space distortion especially at high redshifts; the effect of inhomogeneities in the light propagation and the evolution of bias. Although such inhomogeneities affect significantly the degree of the cosmological redshift distortion, one can determine the density parameter Ω0 from the distortion pattern at z = 0, and the cosmological constant λ0 from that at z = (1 ∼ 2). In particular we show that in low-density (Ω0 ≪ 1) universes one can determine the value of λ0 and even the evolution of the bias parameter almost insensitively to the degree of the clumpiness of the matter distribution in the universe. Supernova Ia observations in the Lemâitre–Tolman model
Observations of distant supernovae show that the light of supernovae Ia is dimmer than it would be in a decelerating universe. Several effects might be responsible for this phenomenon: cosmological constant, evolution of supernovae, selection bias, gravitational lensing, intergalactic dust, and influence of inhomogeneous distribution of matter on light propagation. All of these effects but the ...
متن کاملClustering statistics on a light-cone in the cosmological redshift space
We summarize a series of our recent work concerning the cosmological redshift-space distortion and light-cone effects. After briefly describing the theoretical formalism, we show how those effects are sensitive to the cosmological parameters. Then we apply this formalism to predict the two-point correlation functions and power spectra for the X-ray clusters, galaxies and quasars in future surve...
متن کاملThe cosmological light-cone effect on the power spectrum of galaxies and quasars in wide-field redshift surveys
We examine observational consequences of the cosmological light-cone effect on the power spectrum of the distribution of galaxies and quasars from upcoming redshift surveys. First we derive an expression for the power spectrum of cosmological objects in real space on a light cone, PLC R,lin(k), which is exact in linear theory of density perturbations. Next we incorporate corrections for the non...
متن کاملTwo-point correlation functions of X-ray selected clusters of galaxies: theoretical predictions for flux-limited surveys
We have developed a model to describe two-point correlation functions of clusters of galaxies in X-ray flux-limited surveys. Our model properly takes account of nonlinear gravitational evolution of mass fluctuations, redshift-space distortion due to linear peculiar velocity field and to finger-of-god, cluster abundance and bias evolution on the basis of the Press – Schechter theory, the light-c...
متن کاملCosmological Redshift Distortion of Correlation Functions as a Probe of the Density Parameter and the Cosmological Constant
We propose cosmological redshift-space distortion of correlation functions of galaxies and quasars as a useful probe of both the density parameter 0 and the cosmological constant 0 . In particular, we show that redshift-space distortion of quasar correlation functions at z 2 can potentially set an important constraint on the value of 0 . This is in contrast to the popular analysis of galaxy cor...
